Lab-Grown Diamond Jewelry
FAQs About Lab-Grown Diamond Jewelry
Real. Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined stones. They are not cubic zirconia or moissanite. Both IGI and GIA certify them using the same 4C standards. Even a GIA-certified gemologist cannot tell them apart without specialized equipment.
They are all names for the same product: a diamond grown in a lab rather than mined from the earth. The name does not change the quality or properties of the stone.
Typically, 50-70% less than a mined stone at the same carat weight, cut, and clarity. A 2ct lab-grown VS1 costs a fraction of the mined equivalent. Most customers use the savings to go up in carat or clarity.
Silvadi at 3033 S Parker Road, Suite 222, Aurora, CO 80014. Open Monday-Friday, 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Over 142 certified styles in stock. See and compare in person.
Like all diamonds, they are not strong resale investments. But because you pay significantly less upfront, your total exposure is much lower than with a mined stone. Most customers buy for the jewelry itself: the brilliance, the size, the meaning, not resale.
